Cyprus Guitar Orchestra 1

Cyprus Guitar Orchestra

The Cyprus Guitar Orchestra was founded in 2017, uniting all guitar ensembles established across the cities of Cyprus to create a premier musical group with global uniqueness. The Orchestra includes graduates, diploma holders, soloists, and classical guitar teachers, as well as students from universities, conservatories, and music schools.

Artistic Director Antonis Koizas has appointed coordinators for the guitar sections in each city. The number of guitars has exceeded 200, so the Orchestra is divided into two parts: the sections of Limassol and Paphos participate in Limassol concerts, while the sections of Nicosia, Larnaca, and Free Famagusta participate in Nicosia concerts. Special attention is given to the involvement of young children, with orchestrations adapted to their abilities, offering them valuable educational and artistic experiences.

The Cyprus Guitar Orchestra promotes artistic excellence and its educational mission by cultivating a love for music and fostering collaboration among Cypriot artists. Through teamwork, participants develop skills, relationships, and a sense of pride in their achievements.

Moreover, the aim is to make music a way of life, contributing to shaping the cultural identity of Cyprus. The Orchestra reflects its emotional and cultural heritage, encouraging the younger generation to participate and grow.

The Cyprus Guitar Orchestra invites everyone to actively join this artistic journey, contributing to the establishment of an institution that will serve as a cultural landmark for Cyprus in the years to come.
